The hat and hatband are sold together for $650, the flower is optional for an additional $150. Total price as pictured $800. The hat alone retailed new for $1000 new. The Hat: $650 This is a custom-made cowboy hat from Shorty\'s Caboy Custom Hats, specifically made for Lynn Hays as shown in the gold lettering inside the hat. It\'s a brown/tan colored felt hat with distinctive features. The brim has detailed leather lacing around the edge, and the crown shows expert shaping with classic western-style creases. The Band: The hat band features intricate braided leather work in a tan/natural color. The most distinctive feature is the decorative horsetail tassels - two black horsehair tassels attached to the band with woven leather accents. The tassels are secured with small braided leather knots that appear to have a basket-weave pattern. The Leather Flower: $150 The decorative flower on the hat is a handcrafted leather piece featuring detailed leatherwork. It\'s made with multiple leather petals in brown and turquoise/mint colors, showing skilled craftsmanship in how the petals are cut, shaped, and layered to create a realistic flower effect. The center appears to have detailed tooling or layering to give it depth and dimension. Handcrafted by leather artisan Lynn Hays. The overall craftsmanship shown in these elements demonstrates high-quality custom western hat making, combining traditional techniques with artistic decorative elements.
